From Jon and the Trinity Team
There's a lot of talk about elections at the moment taking part not just here in Guernsey but in various countries across the world.
As ever there is opinion and at times, controversy about parties, partnerships and presidents.
In October in Guernsey we will be asked to choose which candidates we would like to represent us in the new States. It might be quite a bewildering experience - all those names and manifestos!
I think that there's something very powerful about being chosen.
In John's Gospel Jesus says to his disciples then and to us now:
'You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit - fruit that will last - and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you.'
God in Jesus knows you by name and chose you to be with Him. And from that place of being with Him to bear the fruit of godly character, good works and new disciples of Jesus.
Take some time this weekend to reflect on that verse from John 15:16 and to be with Jesus, reminding yourself that you are known by name, loved for all eternity, chosen by Him and sent out to produce good fruit wherever He has placed you!
Below are some details of what's happening at this time:
An invitation from Adrian at St Peter's church - this Friday at 7:30pm there be an evening of praise and worship at St Peter's church. There will be opportunity to pray and to be still and know that God is God. Everyone is welcome to attend!
Trinity internships - over the past few years we have had interns at Trinity for an academic year involved in various aspects of church life and also part of the Trinity team. Interns have either been full-time or part-time and involved with youthwork, children's work, school's work, community work and administration. An honorarium is provided. If you would be interested in an internship at Trinity please contact Jon - e: email@example.com or t: 724319.
God at work during lockdown - do you have an encouraging story of God at work in your life that you would be happy to share with the church community (written, on video or live in a service)? If so, please let us know!

Back in the Trinity building? - the scaffolding is in the process of coming down and we hope that Phase One will be finished by the end of this month. The plan, after a major clean up, is that we will be back in the building on Sunday 6th September for the 9am, 10.40am and 6pm services!
Youth Camp - last weekend we, along with Les Camps and Rohais Methodist Churches, had 23 teenagers camping at the Cub Hut near Sausmarez Park. The main aim of this weekend was to build relationships between the churches and within our own youth groups, as well as spend time with Jesus. We had a fantastic time with loads of fun and games, new friendships being made, amazing times with God, great food and plenty of laughs! Thank you to all the amazing team who made this possible, everyone who provided food and for all your prayers! David
Caring for Ex-Offenders – we would like to say a great big thank-you to everyone who supported our coffee morning fundraising event on Thursday 13th August – whether it was craft making, cake baking, barista, serving cake and coffees, washing dishes, clearing up afterwards and especially spending your money! Your efforts helped us to raise a total of £850. Absolutely amazing! Thank you so much! Mary
We look forward to seeing you soon!
Love and prayers
