Latest Trinity Update - Phase 5 - June 2020

16 June 2020 09:36
From Jon on behalf of the Trinity Team
It has been said that the only constant in life is change which is something that the writer of Ecclesiastes pointed out when he wrote ‘There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven’. Whoever we are in life we face changing seasons both in nature and in our daily lives because not everything is meant to last for ever. To expect unchanging circumstances must surely end in disappointment?
As individuals, families, communities and whole countries we find ourselves in rapidly changing circumstances because of the coronavirus pandemic. As a church we have been become quite accustomed to various changes over these past few months and change, it seems, is the one thing that is here to stay!
For over 10 years we have been planning to repair and decorate the church ceiling and also repair and decorate the rest of the church building. We always knew it would be a huge job and would involve a lot of change and disruption which is why we have been putting it off until now! Phase 4 seemed like an ideal time to get this work done as we were very restricted in meeting at church during this phase and the idea of Trinity Church at Home and Trinity Online seemed like an ideal alternative.
However, phase 4 won't last as long as we expected and we start phase 5 this weekend which is great news for our Island community! Phase 5 does mean that we could start meeting again at Trinity as normal from this Sunday but given that the refurbishment work has started we have decided to continue with Trinity Church at Home and Trinity Online until the end of July as originally planned. It will take two weeks for the scaffolding to go up and then the initial preparatory work on the ceiling will be very messy! So the hope is that we may be able to gather together for worship on a Sunday (probably under the scaffolding!) at the beginning of August.
We are sorry if these changes are a disappointment to you but we hope and pray that we can return to worship together very soon in a newly decorated church building!
Church at Home and Online
Our first Trinity Church at Home took place on Sunday and nearly 200 people gathered in 14 homes across the Island for coffee, worship, prayer, a talk from the Bible and discussion. If you would like to be part of a Trinity Church at Home gathering or would like to start a gathering in your own home with family and friends then please let Anna know on We have the next 6 Sundays planned and we provide resources and refreshments for the hosts and facilitators.
We will also continue with some of our online content as well with weekly YouTube services and Facebook Thoughts for the Day and discipleship resources. Small groups are also meeting during the week as well and if you would like to join a small group please email Bebe on
Please do get in touch if you have any questions or need help in any way.
