Holy Trinity has a long history of people being called to go and serve God in all kinds of places. We have said goodbye to people who have gone to work in Africa and America for Mercy Ships and to Tanzania for working with a home grown charity called The Tumaini Fund. We have a sister church in Galaat, Romania and The Pill Family working for MAF in various countries.
You can read more about them below.
Holy Trinity Missionaries
The Tumaini Fund
The Tumaini Fund - Tumaini means "hope" in kiswahili.
Tumaini’s mission is to take hope to the 200,000 Aids orphans of Kagera, NW Tanzania, by providing mosquito nets, clothes, books/pencils, child sponsorship and a Gospel, as Jesus is the hope of all the world. For information contact Dr Susan Wilson +44 (0)1481 237142 or yesunitumaini@yahoo.com.
Mercy Ships and The Gregg Family
Chris and Vicki Gregg left Guernsey in December 1999 to join Mercy Ships. After an initial period of training they spent almost 4 years serving on MV Anastasis. Vicki worked as a nurse and Chris in the IT department of the ship. They were then assigned to the Africa Mercy which spent much longer than anticipated in dock in Newcastle and they never fulfilled their plans of joining it on a journey to Africa, instead Chris being offered the position of Chief Information Officer based at Mercy Ship’s HQ in Texas. However, they continue to trust God in all that they do and look forward to spending some time aboard the Africa Mercy in the future.

MAF and The Pill Family
Mission Aviation Fellowship International (MAF) is an interdenominational mission, flying light aircraft in developing countries. It operates 130+ aircraft in 37 countries where roads are poor or non-existent or for various reasons unsafe, and journey times lengthy. Using these aircraft they bring help, hope and healing to others by assisting a huge variety of Christian missions and relief Agencies. Currently we are opening a base in Sudan, and establishing new programmes in East Timor and Nepal.
Bryan‚ Tricia and family have been supported by Holy Trinity since they joined MAF in July 92 where they have worked in Tanzania, Uganda and Bangladesh. Bryan is a Reader at HT and works partly overseas with MAF International as a relief Pilot and partly with MAF UK speaking for MAF, Training Volunteer Reps and in open days for recruiting new staff.
Romanian Aid Appeal
The Guernsey Romanian Aid Appeal was founded by Stuart and Wendy Wilson in 1990. The first trip to Romania taking much needed goods was on October 4th of that year. Since that date, 21 trips have been undertaken. For much of that time humanitarian aid has been transported to Galati in eastern Romania. The direction is now changing from transporting huge amounts of aid to a financial type of support, which includes selling beautiful handmade Romanian glass. Holy Trinity Galati is our sister church.
